Brilliant news. But isn't it wise to allow only the paper cut bugs to skip the ui-freeze?

@Gordon:
I had the same problem with a fat32 in ubuntu karmic. I tried to move a 7,7gb iso image to that partition and it never said anything about the file limit being 4gb.
I figured it out myself when i thought "wait, aren't fat32 partitions supposed to have a file size limit?".
If that's not a papercut, then it should be.

Having spent years designing customer facing systems I know how vital it is that error messages like "AUTHENTICATION FAILURE" are written to provide explanations of what has actually happened. We don't want the sort of ambiguous error messages that are the norm for windows e.g.

<a href="http://www.ecalpemos.org/2009/01/windows-says-my-external-usb-hard-drive.html" rel="nofollow">Windows says USB drive full when it isn't.</a>

Another problem area for Ubuntu at the moment is the failure to detect Nvidia graphics cards during installation. Its the sort of problem that could put off many non geek users and its one of the few weak points left with the installation process.

I totally agree with Corey. Disabling Expo and binding win+e to open nautilus happens right after I bind win+t to open a terminal.

I never dug into it very deeply, but for a long time I've noticed that templates "feature", but couldn't figure out how to use it. I would think this would be more then a papercut -- if something doesn't work simply then it shouldn't be showing in the gui of a default install.

Good point about the templates, but the gotcha is that an OO.o template has a certain extension and when you use the nautilus templates system to create a new instance, it uses the template extension instead of the document extension. I filed a nautilus bug about that ages ago but the developers WONTFIXed it.

David, may I rise this bug[1]? It's sane about Compiz shortcuts, in order match Metacity and in order to provide a _full_ keyboard access (a11y). IMHO it's important to fix for Lucic, it's a LTS
